Worship and Music
The Worship and Music Ministry Team is responsible for all things related to our worship. The team works with the pastor to evaluate worship services and to plan ahead for upcoming services. Special attention is focused on creating meaningful worship experiences for everyone.
Special attention is focused on creating meaningful worship experiences for everyone.
One of their primary responsibilities is to connect those who want to serve in worship with the variety of tasks that are needed. Here are the ways to serve in worship:
Acolytes – light and extinguish the altar candles. They distribute and receive the offering plates.
Altar Guild – prepare the sanctuary for worship and the distribution of Holy Communion.
Bell Choir Members and other instrumentalists – enhance our worship through the playing of instruments.
Communion Assistant – assists the pastor in the distribution of Holy Communion.
Greeters – open doors for worshipers and extend a hearty welcome. They work with the ushers to collect the offering.
Lector – read the appointed Bible readings during worship.
Sound Operator – manage the microphones in the sanctuary so that who ever is speaking can be heard.
Ushers – distribute bulletins and assist worshipers when they enter the sanctuary. Work with the greeters to collect the offering. They tidy up the sanctuary after worship and collect the blue Connection Cards.
Vocal Choir Members – lead the singing of the liturgy and hymns as the congregation follows along. They offer anthems during worship to sing praise to God and to enhance the worship experience.
